Sheepskin Atelier

Our Sheepskin Atelier

Once our leather is ready, the real craft begins. In our atelier, skilled hands turn tanned sheepskin into the shoes, boots and slippers you'll actually wear — cut, shaped and stitched with care, all under one roof.

From leather to finished pair — under one roof

Most brands buy their materials from one place and assemble somewhere else. We do both. Because our tannery and atelier work side by side, we control the whole journey — from raw hide to the pair in your hands.

That closeness matters. It means we can choose exactly the right leather for each design, keep quality consistent, and offer the depth of colour and finish that gives every Pegia collection its own character.

Cutting & shaping

Every design starts with the cut. Our craftspeople work the leather by pattern, choosing each piece by its density, wool length and thickness so it suits the shoe it's becoming. A slipper lining, a boot upper and a sandal strap each ask for something different — and each gets it.

It's precise, patient work. Cut well, a pair fits better, wears better and lasts longer.

Stitching & assembly

This is where the pieces come together. Using sturdy, industrial stitching and reinforced seams, our team assembles each pair to hold up to real, everyday wear. Linings, uppers, soles and details are joined with the kind of attention you can feel once the shoe is on your foot.

From soft home slippers to structured winter boots, every style is built to be worn — not just admired.

Quality, checked at every step

Craft only counts if it's consistent. Before anything reaches you, the materials that go into it — leathers, soles, buckles and more — pass strict quality and safety checks. Our workshop operates to recognised international standards, including ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety.

Those standards aren't just certificates on a wall. They're how we make sure every pair leaves the atelier meeting the same promise: genuine materials, honest construction, made to last.

Where it all begins

Every finished pair starts with the leather itself. See how raw sheepskin becomes the soft, durable material behind each Pegia design.
